SIMPLIFICATION MENTOR AND COACH
As salaamu alaykum,
I'm Kate.

I know what it's like to feel chronically overwhelmed - heavy when you wake up, heavy when you go to bed. Disconnected.
THE BACKSTORY
Born in Africa.
Found my faith in the desert.
I grew up in Africa and spent much of my youth travelling the world. My globetrotting eventually took me to the Middle East - and in 2010, living in the UAE, I took my shahada. Alhamdulillah.
A few years later, I launched Healthy Muslimah - an online platform teaching health, wellness and nutrition to Muslim women. I wrote my first book, Then and Now: Food in the Time of the Prophet ﷺ and Food Now. I was doing work I loved, speaking with women across the world, and building something meaningful.
But something kept coming up - in every conversation, in every coaching call. Something I couldn't ignore.
THE REALISATION
Overwhelm was the pandemic
before the Pandemic.
As a nutrition consultant speaking with women all over the world - young, old, married, unmarried, Muslim, non-Muslim, with kids, without kids - I started to notice a recurring theme.
Women were struggling with far more than their eating habits. They were firefighting their way through days, chronically stressed, overwhelmed and exhausted.
And I realised something:
You can't tell someone who feels like they are drowning in their life to "eat more vegetables." They can't hear you. And even if they could, they don't have the capacity to make changes.."
Overwhelm was affecting everything - health, wellbeing, relationships, ibaadah. And it was everywhere.
The pandemic before the Pandemic.
I understood how they felt. Because even though I was working in health and wellness, teaching others to take care of themselves - I too felt chronically overwhelmed.
2018
I was ticking the Islamic boxes.
But I was drowning.
I prayed, I fasted in Ramadan, I wore hijab, ate halal food, said alhamdulillah. But if I'm honest, my daily life was far from focused on my true purpose or my Hereafter.
It had become a stream of never-ending to-do lists and overflowing inboxes - countless downloads I'd never even looked at crowded my devices, books I'd bought and had never read weighed on my mind (and I kept buying more).
I signed up for courses I never finished, saved recipes I never made, and I had way too much stuff; clothes I never wore, arts and crafts materials I planned to use 'one day'.
My "to buy" list never seemed to get any smaller, no matter how much I acquired. There was always something else I wanted.
On a good day, I coasted by on autopilot. On a bad day, I was overwhelmed to the point of paralysis.
Most days I felt like I was firefighting my way through life without a moment of introspection.
Time slipped by and the Quran gathered dust while thoughts of the Hereafter rarely crossed my mind.
I didn't want to live like that. And I didn't want to meet Allah having lived like that.
I knew something had to change. And then it did, alhamdulillah.
THE TURNING POINT
Four words that
changed everything.
Allah heard my silent plea for help and sent me the answer I'd been looking for - in a conversation with a friend.
She was struggling to make positive changes in her life, telling me about her stressful, busy, chaotic schedule. I listened. And then the words tumbled out of my mouth:
"Maybe the reason you're struggling isn't that you're not able. Maybe it's because there simply isn't any space in your life right now - you're overloaded. What if you tried to make space for change first?"
Make space for change.
It was so simple. I needed to take my own advice.
So started my journey into a world of less. I started to simplify everything - my schedule, my home, my mind, my business.
WHAT I DISCOVERED
In that space, something
remarkable happened.
The results of simplifying were profound in my own life and I started teaching other women to do the same.
I pivoted from Healthy Muslimah to a new project - Finding Sakeenah - a journey to tranquility through simplicity.
And over the years, sisters from all over the world joined me - realising that "too much" was quietly affecting their health, their relationships, their children, their marriages, their ibaadah.
Each one embarking on her own personal journey of making space for change. And in that space, amazing things happened. Alhamdulillah.
THE SIMPLY IHSAN METHOD™
From Finding Sakeenah
to Simply Ihsan.
Simplification created space. But I realised I needed a system to help women stay on track - and to make the transformation repeatable, sustainable, and rooted in something deeper than a declutter checklist.
So I developed the Simply Ihsan Method™.
Three principles based on Prophetic guidance that can be applied to everything: your home, your schedule, your habits, your deen, your business.
Quality over quantity in everything. Not fewer things for the sake of it - fewer things so the right things get your full attention and presence.
The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if they are small. Small and consistent beats overload. Always.
Life has seasons. Days, weeks months have Divine rhythms. Meet yourself where you are now live in alignment - everything else follows.
I now use this method not only to hekp sisters simplify, but also to create lasting positive habits, building a 'Life by Design'
SISTERS'STORIES
Real women. Real change.
Not overnight. Not perfectly. Just one small step at a time.
"I picked up the Quran for the first time in a year"
AMARAH
"My decision paralysis is so much less."
My office is organised, my closet is organised, and my life is calmer."
AMANDA
"Now, I look forward to waking up every day to serve my Creator with ease, alhamdulilah"
I started living in present moment which was a dream for me. Alhamdulillah, my children are calmer around me and I can have a meaningful conversation with my husband.
BINTOU
"Simplifying felt so liberating"
It felt like a weight off my shoulders. I became more organised with less clutter. I think twice before buying anything…or rather I have stopped buying unnecessarily.
